Online tutoring · Grade R to 7 · Google Meet

Online tutoring, face to face on Google Meet.

Not close to Durbanville, or easier from home? We can work online. It’s the same lessons, the same pace and the same note after every lesson, just on a screen.

Every subject, Grade R to 7, following CAPS. Live with me, never a recording.

Your first session is free. Booking is open for 2027.

Why online works

Everything you get in person, from home.

  • No driving

No rushing across town after school. Your child joins from home.

  • The same lessons

The same pace, the same CAPS work, and the same note after every lesson.

  • Every subject

Maths, English, Afrikaans, Natural Sciences and the rest, Grade R to 7.

  • From anywhere

Durbanville, the rest of Cape Town, or further away.

  • Homework, done

Your child does their homework with me, so it’s not a battle at home.

  • Ready for tests

Practice and revision before every test, from home.

How an online lesson works

  1. 1

    You get the link

Before each session I send you a Google Meet link. Your child taps it to join.

  2. 2

    We work together

Your child sees me and I see their work. They hold their page up to the camera when we check it.

  3. 3

    You get the note

After the lesson I send you the note: what we did, what still needs work, and what I noticed.

What you need

A screen

Laptop or tablet

With a camera. A phone works, but the screen is small.

A spot

Somewhere quiet

A table, good light, and the TV off.

On the table

Paper and a pencil

Your child works on paper and shows me as we go.

After every lesson

A note after every lesson.

What we did, what still needs work, and what I noticed. In person, it comes home with your child. Online, I send it to you. No surprises at report time.

Build to BetterExample

What we did

Grade 5 Natural Sciences: the water cycle, drawn and labelled.

What still needs work

Explaining condensation in his own words.

What I noticed

He remembers it best when he draws it first. We’ll draw before we write next time.

Quick questions

Do we need to live in Durbanville?

No. Online, you can be anywhere. The times are South African time: Monday to Thursday, 13:45 to 17:30, in term time.

What do we need?

A laptop or tablet with a camera, a quiet spot, and paper and a pencil. A phone works, but the screen is small.

Does online work for young children?

For the younger grades it helps to have a grown-up close by at the start. In the free first session we’ll see together whether online suits your child.

Is it the same price as in person?

Yes: R350 per 45-minute session one-to-one, or R270 per child, per session in a small group.

Is the first session free?

Yes, for one-to-one and group sessions. It’s a chance for me to see where your child is and what they need, and for your child to get to know me.

Will I know how the lesson went?

Yes. After every lesson I send you a note: what we did, what still needs work, and what I noticed.
